The Bernese Oberland in Switzerland is a popular hiking region, and accommodation books out well in advance. If you’re reading this page, you’ve hopefully drafted an itinerary and are ready to pounce on your target properties. Well done! Unfortunately, though, it’s not usually that straightforward. Some properties accept books 12+ months in advance, and others accept bookings only 3 months before the season opens. To make it easy for you to stay on top of your bookings, we’ve collected the booking status of 100 accommodation locations in the Bernese Oberland, along the Bernese Oberland Traverse and Via Alpina Switzerland trails.

How do I book a bed or campsite?
All our self-guided Bernese Oberland packages include access to our new planning app. The app shows the booking status for all accommodation locations, with a “Book now” link. We redirect you to their preferred booking method, including directly on their website, their online booking engine partner, or email.
What if there is no availability for my preferred dates?
Use our planning app to find:
accommodation options nearby to first choice,
accommodation options accessible by transport to/from the trailhead (i.e bus)
