New Feature:
Share Your Itinerary to keep everyone informed
Planning a multi-day hike often means coordinating with the people you’re hiking with — sharing where you’re staying, how far you’re walking, and what route you’re following.
And for friends or family following along from home, it helps them stay informed too.
That’s why we’ve launched a new feature in The Hiking Club planning app: Share your itinerary.
Now you can invite your hiking companions (and those staying at home) to view your itinerary directly in the app, so everyone stays aligned with the latest trip details — all in one place.
New feature: Share your hiking itinerary with your hiking buddies, friends and family to keep them up-to-date on your trip details.
Keep Everyone on the Same Page
No more forwarding screenshots, resending updates, or answering “What hut are we staying at on Night 3?” for the fifth time.
With shared itinerary access, your hiking buddies can:
View Your Full Itinerary and Daily Stats
Your invited hiking buddies can see your complete itinerary, including your daily stages, distance, elevation gain, and hiking time estimates — helping everyone understand the plan day by day.
Check Accommodation Details Each Night
They can quickly see where the group is staying each night, whether it’s a mountain hut, hotel, or campsite, with the same up-to-date itinerary information you’re using.
Download Itinerary and GPS Map Files
Your hiking buddies can also download itinerary details and GPS map files for the route, so they have navigation resources and trip information ready when they need it.
View only access for your hiking group
View-Only Access for Peace of Mind
Don’t worry — shared access is view only.
Your hiking buddies can see your itinerary, but they can’t edit routes, change accommodation, or make updates to your plan. You stay in control of the itinerary, while everyone benefits from having the latest information.
Keep Friends and Family Informed Too
Shared itinerary access isn’t just useful for the people hiking with you — it can also help friends and family back home stay informed about your plans. They can see your route, where you’re staying each night, and follow your itinerary as your trip progresses, giving them greater peace of mind about where you are. It’s a simple way to keep loved ones updated without needing to send regular trip updates while you’re on the trail.
We hope you enjoy this new feature!
