The Alta Via 2 in the Dolomites crosses many roads that make it possible to have baggage transferred along the trail, or between your start and end location. This is a great option for those that have bags they don’t need at all on their AV2 trip, or that would like to reduce their pack size by resupplying along the way with fresh clothes.
Baggage transfer Along the trail:
For those that would like to utilise baggage transfers along the trail, it is only possible for huts/hotels with road access. Locations that are accessible by road:

Here are two options for transferring your bags, depending on how frequently you would like them transferred:
For regular transferring of your bags contact your departure hotel at each location you would like your bags transferred (i.e Night 0, 3, 6, 7, 9) to arrange the transfer with a local taxi company. We recommend contacting them a few weeks prior to your trip to confirm they will organise this and to provide a quote.
Every 2/3+ days, use Send my bags. This is an affordable and reliable option that can be organise for any property that has road access and can sign on pick up/drop off (i.e hut/hotel). This won’t work for any vacation rentals, Airbnbs etc you may stay in along the way.
Between start and end location:
If you would like to send your “non-hiking” bags from your start location to your end location then we recommend using:
Send my bags - They will arrange pick up and delivery of your luggage within Italy or to/from your home location. A great cheap option for luggage you don’t need while you hike! Courier needs a signature on pick up/drop off so usually doesn’t work for vacation rentals, Airbnbs etc.
Trenitalia - If you have a valid train ticket, you can utilise the partnership between the Italian train network and Zyppy to ship your luggage between any two location.
