Get important trail updates by email
Trail conditions can change quickly in the mountains. A closure, detour or disrupted transport service could affect your plan, especially if you are already on your hike.
The Hiking Club’s new email alerts make it easier to stay informed. Paid members can now receive an email when an important trail update affects their planned itinerary, including:
Trail closures and warnings
Route changes and detours
Transport closures and disruptions
Other important notices relevant to their hiking dates
HOW our trail
alerts work
To receive email notifications, open The Hiking Club planning platform and star the itinerary you’re planning to follow.
We’ll use the route, transport connections and hiking dates within your starred itinerary to determine which updates are relevant to your trip. If you’ve created multiple itineraries, simply star the one that reflects your primary plan.
This means you’ll receive more relevant information without having to continually check every update published for the trail. You can then update your route so that the route avoids the closure or warning.
Personalised email alerts are available to paid members. You can change your primary itinerary at any time by starring a different plan.
